MBSR 2.0 Transform Together


Early-Bird Rate:  $375 if you register by Tuesday, September 13

Regular Registration Rate:  $475 starts on Tuesday, September 14

Note:  Group size for this training is limited, so register early to confirm your spot.  MBSR 2.0 Programs are only for those who have completed the MBSR 8-Week Program with Karen.  Each registration is valid for one person.  If you join with another MBSR graduate, please purchase 2 registrations.

Your Registration Fee includes written materials and downloadable audio meditations from the training.  Plus access to the MBSR 2.o – Transform Together  Resource Library until December 31, 2022.

MBSR 2.o – Transform Together Schedule 

Session 1 – Saturday Half-Day:  September 17 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Session 2 – Wednesday Evening:  September 28 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Session 3 – Wednesday Evening:  October 5 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Session 4 – Wednesday Evening:  October 12 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Session 5 – Saturday Half-Day:  October 22 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Optional Bonus Sessions:  

Mindful Movement and Breathing Practices:  30 minutes prior to the start of Session 1 – 5.

Guided Mindful Eating Training:  Saturday, September 17 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Questions and Reflections:  30 minutes following the completion of Session 2 – 5.

If you can’t attend one or more of the sessions, you will be able to listen to the audio meditations and experience the video recordings from each session that will be posted on the MBSR 2.o Resource Library until December 31, 2022. The audio meditations will be available for you to download for your ongoing practice.  There are no refunds for MBSR 2.0 Programs.

Program Description:  MBSR 2.0 – Transform Together

  • ENGAGING in learning and practicing an innovative 3-part mantra – Letting In, Letting Be, Letting Go 
  • EXPERIENCING how to integrate this life-transforming 3-part mantra into your daily life
  • DISCOVERING the revitalizing practice of rituals that will help you listen deeply and respond wisely to what you need and when you need it
  • CULTIVATING a curious, caring presence in the midst of (inner and outer) challenges to reframe difficulties on-the-spot
  • LIVING from a possibility mindset

Program Structure:  MBSR 2.0 – Transform Together

  • Each session will begin with a lying down or seated meditation practice followed by an engaging exploration on how to Transform Together.
  • Using slides to support each session’s exploration, you will be reflecting on a variety of questions, poems and encouraging words to apply the innovative 3-part mantra (Letting In, Letting Be, Letting Go) to your unique life circumstances.
  • There will be a variety of guided experiential meditations weaved throughout each session to move from the conceptual understanding to the embodied integration of Letting In, Letting Be, Letting Go.  
  • As a way to inspire each other’s ongoing practice, be sure to stay for the 30-minutes of Questions and Reflections following each session.

MBSR 2.0 – Transform Together is specifically designed for MBSR alumni who:

  • Have an established mindfulness practice and are interested in deepening their formal and informal practices.
  • Would like to re-engage with their formal and informal mindfulness practices.
  • Are interested in being aligned with their optimal well-being.

 Resource Library: MBSR 2.0 – Transform Together

  • Deepen the integration of each session by continuing to practice with Karen’s creative experiential meditations that will be posted on the MBSR 2.0 Resource Library.  Plus, these audio meditations from each session will be available to download to your computer for a lifetime of practice.
  • Review the selected video recordings from each session on the MBSR 2.0 Resource Library until December 31, 2022.
  • If you can’t attend the Optional Bonus –  Mindful Movement and Breathing sessions, you can practice with the videos that will be posted on the MBSR 2.0 Resource Library until December 31, 2022.

Technology Requirements:  This MBSR 2.0 – Transform Together program will be delivered live through the Zoom video platform. The requirements for Zoom to work properly include having a computer with speakers, microphone and video capabilities (webcam) along with a high-speed internet connection. Mobile devices (phones and tablets) may work although the class material is optimized for full screen viewing with a computer.

Also, you will receive the digital version of the class materials (slides and handouts). If you want to use the paper copy during class time instead of the digital version you will need a printer.

MBSR 2.0 Online Program – Terms and Conditions (“Terms”)

Before submitting your payment, you will be asked to read and agree to comply with the following Terms:                                                               

The MBSR 2.0 is an educational and experiential training in the methods of mindfulness, meditation, gentle yoga, walking meditation and other mindful movements. During this program I will be encouraged to practice these methods appropriate to my abilities and to never push beyond my capabilities. During the mindful movement sessions, if I experience any pain or discomfort, I will listen to my body, discontinue the activity and ask for support from the teacher, Karen Sothers. I understand I am under no obligation to engage in these methods nor will I hold Karen Sothers liable for any injuries or harm incurred from these methods. I assume full responsibility for my experience in this program and for any harm which may incur from these methods during the group classes or on my own in-between group classes.

The MBSR 2.0 is not a substitute for medical care, examination, diagnosis or treatment or a substitute for psychotherapy. If I am under the care of a medical provider, psychiatrist, and/or psychotherapist, I have consulted with my physician and/or therapist about my ability to participate in MBSR 2.0 and I have received the appropriate approval from my health care providers.

I assume all risk for any physical and mental health consequences of participating in the MBSR 2.0 with Karen Sothers.  Before completing my payment transaction, I will be required to check/click the box that I have read and agree to comply with these Terms.  This will serve as my signature that I am confirming a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law in the State of California.

All materials (audio, video, program manual, written materials, hand-outs, power point slides, etc.) created by Karen Sothers for the MBSR 2.0 are copyrighted to Karen, who reserves all rights.  The MBSR 2.0 materials are for my personal use only and I agree not to copy, reproduce, share or distribute Karen’s materials with others in any form.

What if I am unable to attend the live MBSR 2.0 online trainings?

The selected audio and video recordings of the live training will be posted on the MBSR 2.0 Online Resource Library for the specific program you have purchased to review for a limited time.  You will be able to download the audio meditations to your computer for lifetime access or listen directly from the MBSR 2.0 Online Resource Library for a limited time. You can also review the selected video recordings on the MBSR 2.0 Online Resource Library for a limited time but the videos are not available for download.  There are no refunds for the MBSR 2.0 Online Programs.
